Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments How are you liking Hotel?

message 7: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments It's really good. I'm at the part where he just told his son that about the Japanese part of town and the son and fiance are helping him look through the basement.

message 8: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments Cool. There are a few quirky things with the book - like the internet reference before the internet really existed... but it's a good book. :)

message 9: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments I am liking it. I'm a ditz...what day this weekend am I coming to your place for curry?

message 10: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments Saturday! Sunday is our anniversary... and I'm not sure if we're doing anything...

message 11: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments Let me know if I can watch your kids for you while you go out or anything! I'll bring dessert on Saturday!

message 12: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments Woyzeck... that brings back serious memories of many stressful hours of lighting design. WOW!

message 13: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments How's Woyzeck treating you?

message 14: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments I haven't made it much past part 3. I've been too busy at work to read, and too tired to sit in front of my computer at night and read when I get home. I might try to finish it this weekend. Things should slow down a bit by then.

message 15: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments How many parts is it?

message 16: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments 9 - so I'm almost a thrid of the way, I guess. That sounds better... I got the last part today, so if I finish it this weekend, I'm not too far behind...

message 17: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments In my author challenge, does Tatiana De Rosnay go under D or R?

message 18: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments R is the better choice, I think. If you look at her name on her author page here, it's de Rosnay... making me lean towards R. I suppose you could do either though...

message 19: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments I find it amusing that when you were making your A-Z list at the end of 2009, I had trouble thinking of books to read starting with H and W and now that seems to be all I'm reading...

message 20: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments My problems seem to be T and O... holy cow! They're the letters of the year so far! I was thinking I'd have troubles with V, but I now have quite a few V books that I want to read. I know that I had ideas for J and Q, but I can't remember what they were... I'll go back to my old thread at some point and figure it out.

message 21: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (last edited Mar 31, 2010 03:45pm) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments Maybe I should just change my challenge to be two books by an author with a last name starting with each letter of the alphabet...

I need to get away from the titles starting with W! Though, I REALLY want to read World Without End and Wuthering Heights this year.

message 22: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments I think that my problem letters are the T's and O's! Seriously! :) D's too!

message 23: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments We're about tied right now! I've really been slacking for the last month! :) Nice job to you, you've been rocking them out!

message 24: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments I've been slowly plodding along... You've finished 20 books, while I've only finished 17. I'm still behind! I'm not sure I'll catch you. I didn't last year, and I'm ok with that.

message 25: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments Ohhhh it's sooo not a competition. I was really trying to say that you've read an impressive number of books so far! :)

message 26: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments Thank you... I'm just trying to keep up! You go through books so quickly. I'm having trouble juggling the 3 I'm working on right now. I don't read in each one every day... I guess I don't have to, but I feel like I'm neglecting one of them...

message 27: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments I know it's not a competition, but I'm a slightly competitive person by nature, so it's hard not to compare my list to yours...

message 28: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments Me too. I'm not slightly competitive, I AM competitive! :)

message 29: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments Oh, and my other problem is the sheer amount of bigger books I've read so far this year. While none are 1,000 pages, there are quite a few 600+ books. :)

message 30: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments I haven't read much that was over 500 pages (I don't think...).

message 31: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments 21 done! I feel like I'm catching up!

message 32: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments Nice! I'm getting more and more behind! :)

message 33: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments What did you think of Outlander? I'm about half way through the third book, and am liking it!!

message 34: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments I liked it! I'm definately going to read the next one, but I just started World Without End. After I finish that one, I was going to do Dragonfly in Amber.

message 35: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments COOL!

message 36: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments I don't have The Queen's Fool for ereader... Wimmie's going to stop by Half Price Books and pick it up for me. Sooo, if you want to borrow it, I'll have it!

message 37: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (last edited May 28, 2010 06:36am) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments I'm sure I'll borrow it!

You just HAD to go and finish The Princess Bride didn't you? You couldn't let me catch up with you for even one day? :( ;)

message 38: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments Haha! Don't worry hun, you're going to totally whup me soon!

message 39: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments lol. I'm ok with just keeping up. I finally feel like I'm managing that.

message 40: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments Well, I'm pretty sure that you'll be overtaking me quite soon... I'm prepared for it, I promise!

message 41: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments I did it! We're tied! 8 books in May isn't too bad...

message 42: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments Ohhh you're EVIL!!!!!!

message 43: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments 31 done! (It helps that the Percy Jackson books are really easy reads... ;))

message 44: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments You wench!!!!! :)

message 45: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (last edited Jun 22, 2010 09:38am) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments I read The Sea of Monsters in 2 evenings. It really sucked me in and wouldn't let go... I would have dove right into the third one if it wasn't already after midnight. I guess technically, I finished it today (though I dated it for yesterday...). It also helps that I did absolutely nothing productive this weekend (except see you of course:)). All I did was sit on my porch and read.

I'm enjoying The Phantom of the Opera so far, though being very familiar with the movie version, the book feels all out of order.

message 46: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments I don't think I've ever been called a wench before...

message 47: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments Oh when you're done with Phantom let me know! I think you should read Phantom too!

I'd have more than 31 too if I would have read the Percy Jackson series... the hardest part about listening to them was the time it took to finish the books! :)

(I love you!)

message 48: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments I just added Phantom to Mt. TBR! It sounds good.

message 49: by Jenni, Super Spunky! (new)

Jenni (NekoKitty) | 653 comments I have it, so don't buy it! :)

message 50: by Sonja, (Da-Sonja) (last edited Jun 22, 2010 11:25am) (new)

Sonja | 656 comments I won't! I didn't buy The Phantom of the Opera either. I found it on the Gutenberg Project. I tried to get it here, but could only get it to download in French (which does me very little good...).
