Dee | 66 comments How about those of us who read alot and have read some authors that are fairly unknown suggest a series. Set up your favorite scene (happy or sad) and paste an excerpt.

Here is mine :

Here is one that I doubt many of you have read. It is called " The Madrigals" written by jennifer linforth. There are 2 books and a 3rd coming in the fall. It is a continuing story of the "Phantom of the Opera". Eric, ( thats the phantoms real name) has fled to the safety of his dungeon below the Opera house, found love with Anna in book 1 ( Lots of other stuff happens but my scene is from the second book.) In book 2 Anna and Eric are on the run from Raoul de Chagny's investigator. Anna and Christine are both pregnant. Eric is terrified the babe will look like him and Raoul is wanting a little princess. I wont tell you what happens when Anna gives birth , you have to buy the books to find out. Here is what happens at the Chateau de Chagny. Christine gives birth and we pick up with Raoul in the nursery with his little girl::::::

"" Raoul tucked the blanket closer around him and then adjusted the soft wrap protecting his daughter. He grinned at the contentment in her round face. How tiny could a child be? He could have placed her in the bassinet, but he was reluctant to let her go. Walking the nursery, keeping her close to his heart, Raoul lost himself in his thoughts for endless hours. He never wanted this introduction to end. He savored every second he had with the child he was so anxious to meet. The corners of his eyes pinched with exhaustion, but he refused to take his eyes off her face. By the time dawn peeked into the room, he finally relinquished her to the comfort of the cradle. He adjusted the blankets so she was warm and content and placed a gentle kiss to the center of her tiny forehead. A tear fell from his eye. Using his knuckle, he stroked it from a soft cheek. Raoul finally had his little girl. With one last look, he left her to sleep. * * * * An oppressive silence fell over Chagny during the hours that followed. Raoul could feel the throb of his heart keep cadence with Christine’s tears. To tell the woman he loved their child was stillborn, were the most difficult and senseless words he ever had to find."

The first book is called "the Madrigals" the second book is call "Abendlied"
This is a series worth reading !!

Here is the goodreads review of the 2nd book called Abendlied.

The Z Word (Apocalypse Babes #1)

↳An excerpt from Ch. 1 of The Z Word (Apocalypse Babes)
…it all started ☟

“Are you listening to me, Sef? This doesn't have to be awkward.” Seffy nodded reluctantly, wishing Verity had found a different tanning salon, a different hair stylist...a different guy. And it wasn't just Gareth who'd apparently hopped on the Verity train. Seffy's besties, Lani and Addison, also thought Verity was all that and a damn bag of chips. What's she got that I haven't? Wait, don't answer that. Verity shifted her feet, knocking over her can of Diet Rockstar. Seffy watched the liquid travel toward the outlet where the tanning bed was plugged in, trying to make sense of the panic burgeoning within her. There was something about the new girl that wasn't right—something almost threatening in her manner. Seffy played with the J on the zipper pull of her pink Juicy Couture hoodie, annoyed by her melodramatic thoughts. God, it's like I'm still in high school. I have got to get a handle on this. Besides, I need to get my head straight if I'm going to nail my audition in the morning. The thought of that appointment made her stomach cramp. Verity tilted her head, her blue eyes emphatic. “And we can be honest, right?” Yeah, if I were honest I'd tell her off. “Um, sure.” “The thing is, Gareth prefers a whole woman.” Seffy felt her mouth open. What the hell? The interloper opened her blue eyes wide, as if stating the obvious. Verity is whole? What does that make me? “I'm sure you knew that already, Sef, so c'mon.” She poked her with a French-manicured finger. “It's not like it's the end of the world.” Seffy pulled so hard on the J it snapped in her hand. She stared at the pink crystal encrusted charm, still stunned by the blonde's words. Not the end of the world? Gareth doesn't think I'm whole? Suddenly a flash of white light eclipsed Verity from sight. Before Seffy could react, a tremendous force hurtled her backwards, followed by a terrifying weightlessness which could only end badly. Seffy's head swam as she sailed through the atmosphere. The velocity of her descent increased and ground whooshed up to meet her. She threw out her hands to break her fall. Crunching her eyes closed, she let out a keening cuss word. The ground came closer still. WHUMP! Seffy landed hard, the breath rushing from her lungs. The impact made her eyes water. Coiling herself up in a ball, she gasped for air in between coughing spasms. After several excruciating moments, her lungs began to slowly inflate. What the hell happened? Did the salon explode? The pain ricocheting throughout her huddled frame made coherent thought difficult. With her eyes squeezed shut, she lay on the ground sipping the oxygen in measured amounts. It smelled funny. Like burnt ozone, sharp and metallic...with a hint of almond. Seffy finally unscrunched her eyes to get her bearings. The first thing she noticed was the sky. Pearly pink light shimmered overhead and the sun was a neon magenta color. Turning her head, she saw what appeared to be a tract of desert, with a bit of smoldering rubble in the distance. Where the hell was West Hollywood?

Yesenia Hernandez (Yeseniagoodreads) | 39 comments Nicole Peeler is amazing! I loved her first 3 books of the Jane True series. The 4th was a little eh but still - she is definitely worth a shot.

Jane True is witty and gets into situations you can't help but laugh at while the supporting cast are stars themselves. LOVE them

Terri ♥ (aka Mrs. Christian Grey) | 194 comments Opps, I forgot to add the passage for the book. Here it is for Beg for Mercy
Beg for Mercy (A Cambion Series)

Here is a passage from the book.

When I turned back to look at him again his lips met mine. I had no time to prepare. The rush of heat was instant. I closed my eyes like they did in the movies to take in the sensations. It felt magnetic as if we couldn’t be parted. Waves of something I can’t describe rolled over and into me. I would understand later just what that sensation was.
I thought I died and gone to heaven until the front door opened and my mom walked in. I jerked back, horrified, staring at my mother in the doorway when Paul’s head hit my lap. Dumbstruck, I pushed him away urgently, never looking from my mother’s furious eyes. It was too late to warn him of the impending danger when he simply rolled off my lap and thudded on the floor.

It's a good book. Check out the reviews.
